Was this just before she clopped you one for getting in the way of the Scrabble match? It shows a nice element of sharpness of her character, rather than that kind of sad, isolated look that these kinds of photos can usually put across.

Thanks. Yes, she has dignity. Worked hard. Is strong minded. Getting frail, but determined not to let it change her independence. I hope all that comes through, as well as a little vulnerability.

I think you have captured this beautifully Rob and I can see all the things you suggest in it. The lightened version works better although I might have left the cardigan a touch darker in the right to keep focus on her face more. Superb anyway.
