Critique Welcomed And Another One From Hilton Head - New Version

OK, one more after all. Went back down for sunset and almost got nuked by the cloud cover. Turned out pretty well after all, I think. D800

And I think I got all the dust spots, Pete :)

UPDATE: There was some nasty HDR funny business above the fence, so after a lot of trial and error, I went back to a single exposure (hooray for the D800 dynamic range) and I think the new version is much better.

Thanks, guys.

Can't seem to edit the thread title, but I completely redid the image as a single exposure (not HDR) to get rid of some artifacts.

Thanks, Pete. I can't believe I missed the horizon being way off :oops:

I was just going to add something like "[NEW VERSION]" at the end of the thread title so folks would know the image was redone. No big deal. The version I first uploaded was kinda embarrassing - I would like to think I'm a little more careful than that.

The grass is movement due to wind - it was a 2 sec exposure

GULP.........awesome Keith! Those colours are just AWESOME.

Did you not use the built-in (handy) horizon on the D800? So handy and a nice touch to have instead of attaching a bubble in the hot shoe.

Question please Keith? How do I implement the 'Dymanic Range' to achieve this style...?? Please tell......

regards;
Peter

Thanks, everyone. Just goes to show even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then ;)

I do have some wall space in the dining room after our recent remodeling - I suspect this is going up on the wall.
