You need:

- a toddler racing towards you on a tricycle or a scooter, grinning
- Auntie Vi looking sheepish whilst Uncle Arthur puffs philosophically on his pipe
- all the babies together in the paddling pool with no clothes on...
- ... and little Joey then running towards the camera with his w***ie bobbing about
- Dad erecting the windbreak with a mallet at Weston-Super-Mare...
- ...whilst mum sits on a rickety seat eating a 99
- the family playing french cricket on the parched lawn, at slightly faster than normal speed
- some middle aged men still wearing ties and cardigans whilst barbecuing
- a 7-year-old blowing bubbles
- Tiddles the cat chasing a ball of wool
- Auntie Vi still looking sheepish whilst Uncle Arthur keeps puffing philosophically on that pipe

Continue the above in rotation for about 2 hours...

Tim, have you been watching my family home movies? LOL

For some reason - most of ours seem to have been filmed during picnics, so the family is always pictured eating! LOL

Other than that, you described them to a tee

There are exception of course - Granddad filmed the old dear's wedding day, which is hilarious to watch - mum looking all leggy as she tries to climb into the old man's MG gracefully!!!

Then there's the classic 'Nana get's chased by a wasp' - just add the Benny Hill music and it's a sure fire hit. :p

I've got some old 8mm cine films in the loft. Haven't seen them for years as I don't have the projector anymore. I remember mostly family members being blinded by the 2 500W spot lamps attached to the top of the camera. If you though camera mounted flash looked bad..............

I don't have access to our old projector, so I'll be sending the 8mm film to be scanned to disc - could get expensive though :(
