This is all very new to me .
I know this is like pressing the shutter to y'all
and can appreciate how frustrating it must be
for you to have to walk me through the most
basic of task.
Will give her one more go.
Thanks again for your indulgence.
Ron

EDIT : WOO HOO !! Thank you all very much :)

Well that was well worth the wait!
Very very nice!
Wonderful tones ... Depth ... All sorts of very nice!
What is the process to get to this result?

First Hamish , let me thank you again. I've been a member
only 24 hours or so and have learned something that will
help more than I can imagine at my level of the game.

This is basically a fumbling attempt to use Martin Henson's
Contrast Grading technique. I am just trying to get a handle
on all of the things you can do with it. I basically blend in at
least 3 or more exposures ( not a HDR program ) by hand with layer
mask into selected areas of the image. Then it's to Color Efex Pro
for selective tonal contrast again with the brush tool and layer
mask. Then some routine touchup with CS5. I really don't understand
the full potential of the technique but it is a great deal of fun and
yeilds - in the hands of someone better at it than I - what I was looking
for in HDR but couldn't get. Zooey ( Lesley ) is far more accomplished
with this than I. I would put a link to the Site but doubt that it would be
proper for me to do that here.
Thank you again very much for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

I love this view, and Bath is one of SWMBOs favorite places :)

Loving the late warm light, and the streetlights and store lights already coming on.

Nicely done Ron.

You doubt wrong my friend, links to anything relevant to where ever are always welcome ... Certainly on our part ...
As long as who you are linking to isn't going to mind (which is unlikely) ... Link us! :)

I thought it was HDR when I first looked at it ... But it's a lot nicer to look at the most HDR stuff!
It has the detail, but not that sort of forced hyper-real look!
I really like it ...

This is very nice...
I haven't tried this viewpoint, I usually stand on the other bank which has the advantage of not being on the main road. I'll have to try this sometime...

Thank you all for the kind words and , even more , the support
in the face of such raw ignorance :)
Yet another question please. I am absolutely awful with acronyms.
SWMBO ?? Alaways seems so obvious when someone tells you but
I can never figure these things out :)
Thanks again.
Ron

LOL Zooey :) Thanks.

And thanks Pete. I'm afraid my work goes down hill from
this ( you probably have a favorite of your work - this is mine ).

Have photo club tonight so won't have much chance to post.
The subject of competition is bottles. Wish me luck :)

Thanks again.

Ron
