I really don't know what it is. It's a kind of construction (duh) on the military shooting range Vliehors. The Vliehors is a sand flat in the Wadden Sea, NL, and the western part of the isle of Vlieland. It was quite warm at the time of the photo, it is sand, not snow...

Could have told you that it was one of the few photos I was able to shoot during our expedition to the North Pole, and that more photos were impossible due to the extreme cold of -45 Celcius.

Lost the opportunity for a nice story...

I guess it's a weather station, but, whatever it is, it is a damn fine shot of it. I really like the way the foreground merges into the distance.
