Critique Welcomed Black Sky Over Raasay

Shot this image a couple of years ago with my Canon F1 and FD 28mm lens. The film was Arista Premium 400 (Kodak Tri-X rebranded for Freestyle Photo Supply) that I processed in Rodinal.

That is some foreboding atmosphere you have captured here Brian. Fantastic swerve to the cloud leaving that great wedge of light in the middle and I have just noticed the rays of light from heaven on the right. Superb one indeed.

Very brooding sky - I love the way the grain adds to the whole brooding feel of the shot Brian

As mentioned, there is a definitely dark and brooding atmosphere greatly accentuated by the presence of grain. I've never processed Tri-X in Rodinal before, is that the typical response?

The sky above Applecross and the Hebrides is generally magnificent, and changes moment to moment. Makes it hard to take a bad picture. Thank you, Tom.

Abram I think the grain was less pronounced before I added a touch of "clarity" in Lightroom. Maybe tonight I will post up an unprocessed version of this image for comparison. However, to answer your question, yes, grain is typical from the Rodinal/Tri-X combo.
