Boats

I had to shoot this place for an assignment (an organization that I volunteer for needed some shots in preparation for an event coming up). They initially asked for a sunset shot, because they thought it would be most dramatic. Perhaps, but I convinced them that a daylight shot would work, too. This was shot about mid-day, when supposedly it's impossible to take decent photos... :p

Clearly not impossible. A beautiful shot, the rhythm of the boats echoed in the clouds, and framed by the trees and the building. Perfect.

You have no idea Pete - it's La Jolla, and everything is a premium! :D

Great shot Darren - this installation is on my hit list

Which lens did you use?

Lovely Darren!
It reminded me of somthing, Paul cleared up what!
I like the shot a lot! They look like they are floating somehow ...
The only thing ... What's going on next to the tree? Some sort of blue artefacts?

Wow! Very interesting place. You sure did a nice shoot of it Darren!

Thanks, guys.

@Hamish: I'm not sure what happened next to the tree. Oddly enough, I just went back to the RAW file in LR, and it's not there so something happened in uploading it to Flickr, I guess. Wouldn't be the first time something strange happened in Flickr to my photos. Looks like some sort of ghosting of the tree against the sky or something. I'll try to upload again to swap it out later.
