Having rescued an Olympus XA2 from a charity shop I've just tested it taking advantage of its small, unobtrusive size to practise the hit and miss technique of shooting from the hip. More misses than hits but I was particulary pleased that this shot worked more or less as I hoped.

I did wonder afterwards whether the strip lighting would cause flare or bleach out the top right hand corner. As it was the sunlight coming through the window behind me cancelled its effect.

Pure luck perhaps. Whatever it was I'm probably going to be hard pressed to repeat something that could be considered "perfect".
