Now that's effective. Not sure about the bottom, nearly in focus, branch but I like the layering a lot. Looks like one of our microscope specimens!

I like the idea a lot. I too have been thinking of flat layers behind each other progressively OOF. In a lot of my recent photographs I have made efforts to flatten the depth of the image and wanted to look at a way forward.

I like it, too, Rob. The lower branch doesn't bother me too much but I agree the image might be improved were it to be cropped out.
