Being approximately 5 metric miles from the nort pole, I can truly witness that there is no snow here either. Like your pictures though. The first one seems to be covered in oil. I hope I am wrong.

oh no, it won't be long now before boston is set loose on the world again. love the first shot. reminded me of a cartoon where you see the shadow of the abominable snow man, then the little tiny mouse comes creeping out of the shadows.
we got another 2" today and even had a snow squall with white out conditions for a few minutes.
