I've had some great help from the people of this forum in the last few days and I'm in need of some more now - I'm deciding again whether or not to include this picture in an album. I used to really like it, a friend of mine isn't a massive fan and I've looked at it so much I now can't decide for myself. Opinions are really welcomed here!Harriet and Adam (181).jpg

I like it without the light but that then crops part of the Lady in the background, not much but I'd lose the light to give a bit of mystique..

It's reportage so I say it's in! :D

I like the image although I think I'd crop in tighter (which sounds like what will happen in the album). The only thing that might stop me wanting to include it (and I am not a social photographer) would be the texture on her skin and elbow. While they are realistic I would worry that the should be a tiny bit more flattering (maybe a bit more work on the skin?). As a photographer I also like the interesting highlight under her eye but, again, maybe that is a different view from what is required in an album. I really don't envy the choices you must make. You need a female opinion as well I think: @Asun Olivan , @Lesley Jones @Beth Anthony ?

Did that help at all?

 the image resizes with the browser window so i can't play with cropping it using a smaller window.

i'll preface this by saying i'm not a people photographer and i don't know what i'm talking about (@Pete Askew sorta blows your female opinion theory out of the water :p) . i think the main issue is the pose, her left arm looks pretty awkward in that position. i'm not sure if her elbow is bending in or out at one point and her hand seems to be twisted the wrong way. i think it's great for a spur of the moment shot, but maybe not album material.

I like the idea, but I'm not keen on the angle... Its quite an abrupt photo to look at as the elbow is pointing right at you. If someone put an elbow in your face you would find it a little rude and that is the feeling I get here ... A shame, as I like the point of focus on her eye and the bracelet

Sorry I'm late (but at least I can prove I now have my alerts switched on). Initially I love the candid nature and it is indeed a different view of what was probably a manic day. A female viewpoint though does make me wonder if she would be happy with that angle - upper arms and elbows aren't exactly our favourite areas. It's a shame though, because I really do like it :)
