I left the big lens and Macros lens at home the other week and went out with the old 18-55mm Kit lens for a change.

This is one of the shots I ended up with.

I just wish I had the processing skills of some of you on RPF:o.

Very nice composition. The image makes for a very relaxing feeling for the view. Maybe a touch more coast in the trees would be nice. Over all though I think the composition rules.

very quaint looking scene & great composition.........really like this Glen, nice to see you trying something different :-)

May be worth going back here in couple of weeks when the leaves have changed or are changing colour, see if you can replicate this same shot as autumn is getting its grip.

Lovely composition Glen. It really doesn't need much PP I don't think. What do you use by the way?
I have Lightroom 3.6 and Photoshop CS3 but I had very limited skills.

Just as an example, here I altered the tone curve in LR (and thus giving some increase in contrast) and added 5% clarity (you'd need more in the original file I would guess). I have also used slight gradients from the top and sides with 0.5 reduction in exposure and about 20% reduction in saturation (to compensate for the boost given by the reduction in exposure).

Thanks Pete, I should really try to remember all these helpful processing tips I read on here:o.

But whenever I go to process it's the same thing every time, move the sliders until either I'm happy with it or get sick of it...lol.
