ok Ive been looking at getting a camera to use alongside my D300s. Was thinking maybe go for the x10 but decided thats maybe just a tab past my budget at moment but I did stick with Fuji and got a HS20 on the way :D

Looking forward to hitting the hills during hols weather/roads permitting :D :D

I think they have sorted out the overheating problems with the batteries the early ones had so a good choice shoots raw as well the price has dropped as well I noticed this morning likely to widen the gap to the X-S1

i am sure you will enjoy your new camera, I have a BIG incling that a guy in a red suit is gonna drop me off an x10, Fuji make quite good cameras really especially for the price.

Have Fun

i loved my fuji, and funnily enough I was looking at a second camera... been looking at the Fuji S3 Pro

If you get an S3 Davie I'd be interested to read your thoughts about it. I have read reviews that compare it to other DSLR's and it doesn't come off very well. However I'm surprised that Fuji would make a duff DSLR and they went to all that trouble with the sensor technology. I have wondered if there is more to the camera than the pixel peaking reviews suggest.

I had an S3 for a while. The image quality was fine but I hated the handling and menus and relegated it to the lab (stuck on top of a microscope). I have since given it away to a friend (the Firewire port gave up and so we couldn't run it from the Fuji Hyper Utility tethered shooting software). I also have an S5 (that is now also in the lab) and the handling was much better (especially with the battery grip) but the low light performance wasn't up to what I'd hoped - otherwise it is excellent. Switched to a D2xs (great handling) and shortly after (if only I'd waited!) to the D3 which are the workhorse DSLRs (we have 2 x D3 and a D3s). We also have a D700 on a microscope. That is due to be replaced by either a D3x or whatever new comes out next year that has a high pixel count.

i think the main reason for looking at a fuji was I have had 2 fuji bridge cams (The S9600 and S100FS) and loved them both and I was looking for a cheap second hand DSLR that I could bang a superwide lens onto (with the 4/3 rds a 14mm becomes 28mm) so if anyone has a recommendation let me know.
