Welcome to my world of permanent Fuji induced penury. I suppose it would help if I would stop rescuing dogs and cats. I finally broke down and ordered the 18-55 this AM. You will not regret the 14. It may be the best lens I own. It's really a great lens.

Where did you get the "ish." I'm actually very excited about the 55-200. Adorama hasn't given my an estimated shipping date yet. You'd think at this point they would dispatch a courier to my door in stretch limo with the lens held gingerly by two bikini clad Victoria's Secret models on a red velvet pillow. Just a thought that would make my living on cans of soup for the next couple of months more palatable.

The 14 and the 55-200 are on my list. I don't need convincing about the 14; I have yet to read a poor report. I'm really looking forward to reading what you think of the long zoom.

I don't think the 18-55 is for me, but one thing is clear - this is not a kit lens, but rather a very good lens that happens to be a zoom.

i believe talk of those kind of services isn't allowed here.

this page cites may 25th as the release date for the 55-200mm. and i figure the -ish is always added in with shipping. no official word on shipping from adorama yet.
