not really done much of this bird photog stuff but they actually seemed a lot more tame in wales ... but then i didnt see a single cat whilst i was there!

You have *got* to get out of the city more often! ;)

Thats a male chaffinch and a pair of house sparrows, and wonderful photos of all of them if I might say.

Can't account for the lack of cats in Wales though...

Cheers,

Kate

My favourite birds are the featherless ones you buy in the supermarket that don't have heads or feet though
Strange... My favourite ones are the featherless ones with a head, two arm, two legs, and two other front appendages:eek:.

But I still love the feathered ones too;).

I never thought I'd see the day!!!.

not really done much of this bird photog stuff ...
You should be careful Hamish, you could end up with a bigger lens and get addicted;).

I've heard the 50-500mm "Bigma" is the better of the ???-500mm sigma zooms if you were really thinking of one, a bit more expensive though but still cheaper than a big Nikon lens.

nice set Hamish......... I hated my 150-500mm unless i had a bad copy, was VERY soft and colours it produced always looked washed out........ i wanted a canon version but couldn't afford one at the time so bought sigma instead.

Now i got the next best thing a Canon 100-400mm IS L .............1000 times better lens IMO. I dont use it as much as i should due to having the 70-200mm F2.8 IS L which i simply love.............lol
