Rhona posing in a bus shelter. The orange bit at eye level is a flowering bush behind the shelter, and it was a gift, forming a triangle of reddishness with her hat and bag at her feet.
Good point. What do you think about the non-parallel bars framing the shot? I played with straightening and stretching, but noting looked good. I even cropped them out, then decided against it.
They don't worry me at all as the content between them is so strong. And the fact that the gap between them widens towards the top helps draw the eye to Rhona's face I find. Works really well all round I think. You could probably correct it with Edit/Transform/Distort in PS but I'm not sure I would.
Rob - Pete's just edging you slowly towards a square crop!
Love the shot - the layers make it very interesting, and the way the color bursts through is very engaging
The only think I'd say around the original original version is that it's cooler - gives a good feeling of being out in the cold - where as the later versions are warmer.
Rhona's face through the misted glass looks like a china doll - maybe something from Dr Who that looks cute, but is far from harmless...
I like the tonal contrast you gave it, Rob, but actually I prefer the un-cropped version with the extra headroom. For me that original version has more of a street shot feel to it. Either way it's a wonderful shot.
