C330s - First shots

Despite getting a warning from the developer, many of the shots turned out OK, some a little shaky (must use a tripod!), but quite a few I'm pleased with. This was me just guessing, using my internal light meter. This morning I had a beautiful walk along the river Avon in Edinburgh, using the Weston light meter. I'll get those back at the end of the week.

Anyway, I'm in the middle of editing this first bunch, but thought I'd upload the first shot along with two Nik Silver edits.

First, the original - not quite, as it was 127 MBs!!! This is a lower-quality version, and reduced to 1000px square. FP4.

It's a bit under exposed, so here's a darker one...

And one final experiment with boosted contrast - but it has revealed some vertical streaks in the sky... I'd appreciate your thoughts on the different versions. maybe the original is the best?

I think the 1st cricket shot is best, Rob. I prefer the 2nd castle shot,...for the sepia toning as well as the way the castle is framed in the frame.

I like the framing of the first castle shot..in the window frame really nice perspective.

What did you scan them as? These are the usual settings I use on my V600:

LF (4x5) - 800 dpi
MF - 1200 dpi
35mm - 2400 dpi

Thanks, Brian. I think you are right. Except that I didn't add any sepia - that's how it came out, or at least the scanned and digitised version. I haven't done anything to it. I agree that it does look different to the others, but I don't know how that happened.

David, I didn't scan them. The developer did, and he scanned them at 1200.

Brian - I do mention the film in the first post, but you need a good eye to see it. FP4.

Pete - Yes, they are not as bad as the guy made out, and I am reasonably happy with how they turned out. Yes, I could get rid of the streaking is PS, but this thread is about showing the original and a couple of quick edits. I could spend more time on it.
