Thanks Darren, as you will see we went for the Panasonic as above.
A follow up on electronic viewfinders:
I wear varifocal lens glasses. Through an ordinary SLR viewfinder, it is no problem and the natural position of the camera against my glasses matches the mainly distance focusing required.
Through the electronic viewfinder of the Panasonic I am effectively looking at a tiny screen extremely close to my eye. Therefore, whatever the distance of the original subject, I need to focus up really close. This corresponds to a thin strip at the bottom of my glasses lens - designed for reading in your lap or on a desk - so the only way I can focus on the VF is with a very artificial head position, tilted to the skies. Not good.
Has this problem re varifocal glasses been noted before?
