Was waiting for Meg to complete a dance lesson last week and thought I'd mess about with my new Canon T70. I had the FD 28mm lens on it and had Ilford Pan F+ inside it. I used the carroofpod to steady the camera and adjusted the angle with the carroofpod's patented carkeyangleadjuster accessory.;)

I like that Brian from the soft foliage on the left to the single vehicle. Sort of like a movie scene again - an abduction in the making? The victim is about to walk up the path on the left!!

I've heard they do a lightweight version of angle adjuster as well now - the IspenttoomuchmoneyoncamerasandthemissuschuckedmeoutsoIdon'thaveahousekeyanymoremarkI. I believe there is a version for the X-Pro 1 coming out (SWMBOspottedmetakingpicturesofyoungladiesinbikiniskeypodangleadjuster) - I think Chris has been thinking of getting one!! ;)

Thank you, Pete! :D

How did you judge exposure Brian - did you bracket a few shots of the same scene?

No Chris. It was a single shot. I must give credit to Canon. It's the magic of auto exposure. I find the T50 and also the Oly XA to handle night shots quite nicely. Now I must say the same for the T70.

That is a great image Brian. There is something about the photos where they seem to be snap shots in terms of subject matter but the result couldn't be further.
Thanks very much Paul. I must say there was a bit of luck involved since framing the image was pure guesswork, given that the camera was on the carroofpod. Took me a few minutes to set up and steady the camera and judge my aim. Got it framed about as good as I could I think. Thank you Paul.

Just waiting for Mulder and Scully to appear from behind the van...nice atmosphere Brian, nice also to see you making use of those expensive carpods..:D

Thanks very much, Kev. The carroofpods are certainly dear and not entirely user friendly for the money, but they're fast! ;)

I have found the groundpod system to be a useful piece of kit and recently thumbpod, a cheap version of the kneepod :D:D

I've used the groundpod (Often referred to as a "turfpod" I do believe) as well as the kneepod. I've also used the indexforefingerpod (albeit primarily for framing adjustments). I've not yet used the thumbpod, though. I must try it. Are there any, er, rules of thumb you'd recommend, Kev? ;)

As a rule of thumb the right index finger should be used to fire the shutter whilst the left index finger is used to lock the camera into the mount of the total pod system, however, it may help if the optional elbow attachments are used spread to their full extent to ensure a sturdy pod system. This system is not liked by SWMBO's who often refer to it as the 'Youbinlyinginthemudpod!' :D:D:D

Hope you find this instruction useful..Brian :D

Thank you, Kev! Your response has epitomized what I love about RPF. You always get the best advice on photography and photography gear! :p

I use that one quite regular when out with the Macro lens, the tripod usually scares critters away so I use the "Liyinginthemudpod" too :D.

I use an integrated system...

The thumbpod is connected to the handpod,
the handppod is connected to the wristpod...
etc, etc

:)
