Critique Welcomed Cautivo

A BW conversion for an intense red. The dance was called Cautivo.

I love the look on the girl's face--she keeps her smile on despite the effort.

I cropped the image to remove to dancers on the right whom I had only partially got in the frame.

Now that I like a lot Brian. Perfectly timed and with just the right amount of residual movement. And the red lighting has produced a lovely tone on the skin - almost like IR.
Thanks, Pete. The original red image was horrible--it was like half of the dances that day used this intense red light that the sensor could barely see through, requiring careful PP --enough to see detail, but not enough to lose too much of the original shade of red. B&Ws turn out very nice, though. Thanks again, Pete.

That I really like Brian, really, really good. I noticed the new watermark. Has someone been using your images from the WWW?

Thanks very much Paul. To my knowledge no one has used my images on the www. But as I explained in an earlier post, I've put the watermark on all the dance images because I've allowed a few people (non-RPFrs) access and I just want to be careful. Also, I'm hoping for other dance shooting opportunities so I may invite more people to see the pictures.

Anyway, thanks again Paul!

I disagree Lee, the content of the photo lends its self to this sort of level of contrast - it gives it an almost 1950's tv feel which seems right for the image

I like the balance in tones also Brian, if you did increase contrast as Lee mentioned you would loose detail in shadow areas and that would ruin the image For my preference & obviously yours as you edited it i would stay with this edit for sure.

I like your dance shots, keep them coming :-) especially the senses of moment here of the slight blur to the lady legs

Thanks for the feedback, Daz. In the end I decided not to bother with Lee's suggestion, since I was quite happy with the picture and it seems others were also. Anyway, thanks again, Daz. Much appreciated.

And thanks Hamish and Pete for the additional input!
