My new cheap light setup £248 for 3x flash heads plus stands 2xumbrellas silver reflectorplus 2xsoft boxes 4 gels and 1 honey comb plus 1 barn door. Also one wireless trigger 4ch connects via power lead and hotshoe adapter for camera. testing to see what is the largest aperture i could use with this cheap setup as has had mixed reviews. All shots with canon 60d 18-135mm lense
dpp1 f22 1/250 sec 60mm iso100 2 light flash both full power under exposed
dpp8 f22 1/125 dec 60mm iso100 2 light flash both full power slightly under exposed
dpp9 f19 1/125 sec 60mm iso 100 2 light flash both full power correctly exposed
dpp10 f16 1/125 sec 60mm iso 100 2 light flash both full power slightly over exposed
dpp17 f19 1/180 sec 60mm iso 100 2 light flash both full power correctly exposed
so on full power for both heads only f19 at 1/125 and 1/180 would correctly expose image to get a high key shot. bearing in mind that lights have dimmer style switch so only has min and max settings and dial inbetween to fine tune.
Coudlnt fit any more images on so here are the final results for both heads being turned onto their lowest setting which you could dial in.
f11 1/180 60mm iso 100 both lights lowest power output correctly exposed being picky just slightly off a high key shot
f9.5 1/180 60mm iso 100 lights lowest power output correctly exposed
f6.7 1/250 60mm iso 100 lights on lowest power output correctly exposed
so all in all not a bad set of lights for price and packaging i would happily reccomend these lights as a starter kit for low budget . Lights seem pretty sturdy and soft boxes are rigid barn doors are not brill but not to bad, gels are handy if your trying something new. Here is link anyway , review is to point out that not all cheap studio flash kits are bad and you can still get some good results.
