I've taken one trip out of the states in my life and am pretty much
small town born and raised. If you had told me I would be out taking
pictures in Rome, Italy at 1:00 AM in the morning , I would have said
you were nuts :)
Thought I would enter this one in our club's "Store Front" competition
next month. WIsh me luck :)

Thanks Rob. Will need some luck but if it doesn't place that's ok.
I FINALLY learned that if I really like it then it doesn't matter.
Zooey, I played around with this since you saw it. Am trying to
learn how to use Color Efex and so far love it :)
Thanks again.
Ron

EDIT : Zooey, I read a reply you made to Alfie re: his street shots in which
you offered to explain your process in more detail. If you ever post that,
would you let me know so I don't miss it. I could learn sooo much !! But,
remember, you'd have to start basic and give the details. You are so at ease
with this stuff that you can "talk in unknown tounges" when a newbie is
listening :)

Yeah loving that, for me it has the right tone

Thanks Davie :)
For some reason I lean toward the dark and moody stuff.
Character flaw I'm sure but it's not my worst :)
Thanks again.

Looks already closed up? Great shot. Love the dark contrast to the image. I also like the composition. Good luck on the competition.

Thanks Ralph.
Yep. It was between 1 and 2 in the morning and everything
was closed up. Saw this walking back from taking some night
pics of the Trevi Fountain. For an old home boy, it was amazing
how any folks were still out :)
Thanks again.

Ron - I'm happy to go over anything you want, although there are others in here far more advanced than me. On the other hand, it took me years to get my head around the concept of layers, so I do know what it feels like to be all at sea. There is no such thing as a perfect work flow - I once sat through about 13 of a 16 video set on You Tube and just couldn't get what was going on. The guy pretty much took his image apart and then built it up using methods I wouldn't touch with the proverbial barge pole. The end result looked very good though, but I have better things to do with my time :)

Thanks Hamish.
Davie and I have been drawn in by the dark side but
he says it's ok... Darth isn't all that bad once you get
to know him :)

Very much appreciated Milan. The competitions are fun and , especially
when you're learning , helpful because they make you think and work with
things you would not have otherwise.
Thanks again.
Ron

Thanks Pete.
I've been told before that my stuff is a bit theatrical or
dramatic. Can't help it :) I do love the old B&w films and
have actually recorded some so I could freeze and study the lighting.
One too many late nights with Casablanca :)
Would like to hear how the eye is progressing.
