Thank you Rob. The vicar's garden I took some pics in last week is next door.
That is a fairly new stone; she was a local doctor, passed away in 2008.

I have been fascinated by these places ever since I was shown, by a teacher, a footpath paved with the unmarked (or worn down) gravesones of paupers leading down a twitten (what a fantastic word that is!) close to the churchyard back home in Sussex. My wife and I recently spent a few hours in the big graveyard here in Lancaster, photographing the sights. Perhaps I'll post some of the images elsewhere later.

I especially enjoy perusing through old graveyards and church yards. So much beauty, peace and not to mention history. Great shot. it really gives you a sense of the place. WE are heading to England June 4th to the 27th. will be going to e few Churches and Cathedrals along the way.
