Cyanotypes At Clare Park

We went to the park yesterday just to get Ella out of the house. She was knocked down by a car just over a week ago and has fractures to her arm and pelvis. Quite amazing how she has bounced back and is hobbling about on her crutch a speed. For long distances though she has to be pushed in a wheelchair, something that she hates. As well as a bit of fresh air it gave me the chance to take some photographs.

The park is nice but like a lot of rural areas in the UK it is pleasant but very green and brown. I decided to take some close ups as you do find a lot of nice textures. I wasn't sure what to do with these other than make them monotone. The cyanotype seems to work IMO.

These are very nice Paul and what a great idea to process them as 'Cyanotypes'. I especially like the emerging Catkin and that fruit reminds me of one of Dan's masks!! A light coffee 'stain' over a cyanotype works very well too as it takes the harshness off the highlights (not that these need that). Do you have more?

Err, Yes, When I called it a bud I meant Catkin. I was wondering what they were called.

Thanks Pete, I don't have anymore but I do plan to explore this type of image a bit more. I had a quite a bit of success with a series of images using a slightly modified version of LR's Antique preset with a fairly large random grain. I mounted them in frames and hung them in the house. I thinking of doing something similar again.

Sorry to hear about Ella, not good at all, But on the positive note she is on the mend which is very good news.
