Daybreak on the Pacific

Taken this morning at Del Mar's North Beach, known locally as Dog Beach, as it's open to dogs (and their owners).

The foreground includes the mouth of the San Dieguito River, which starts on the southern slope of the Volcan Mountains, and passes the Del Mar horse racing track, before meeting the Pacific.

I like everything about this picture, it speaks for itself conveying a sense of being. Great image.

I see what you mean Chris but I like the portrait shot better. I like both compositions but I like the bit of extra space at the top in the first I think. Nice smooth tones. Lovely stuff.

Thanks Lesley - the foreground glow is the low sun bouncing off the water under the road bridge I'm standing under - made for lovely textures in the rippled sand
