Decaying delight

Wow - the first shot showing the snow in the church is killer!

Amazing to see - the guy needs a better camera, or maybe the shots were just low rez versions.

As for going there... 'Frequently rated one of the ten most dangerous cities in the United States'

Mmmmmm, might take me a while to get round to that Dan! :D

Great find though.

Then it'd be one of the five most dangerous! ;) Good find Dan. Did I ever post this (his book is worth a look).

Oohh? Great find pete. Shall have a look at that properly later. :)

........ So you've never been to Barrow or Saltash then Dan ????

Hi Dan

This is a fantastic and some what a sad story to see this happen to a town. We tend not to get the opportunities in the UK for this type of photography H&S and all that. But having said that there is a community that do explore on a similar vain. Two web sites that are worth having a look at if you like this type of photography.

Derelict Places
28DaysLater.co.uk Urban Exploration Forums

Hi Steve,
I love exploring in the dark, in unknown territory, uninhabitable places...
There's something about it that makes me tick. Maybe it's the rebelion in me ignoring H&S signs, ignoring keep out signs etc.

As for opportunities, I must agree with you that there are not as much as there is in the U.S, however, there are still thousands of opportunities in the U.K.... Thousands! I've been places we're only a few have walked.
My wife hates it when I go out :) I haven't been out exploring since my last tunnel visit about 4 months ago now. Got to get back on it. Lol
I used to be a member of 28dayslayer untill I found out that the admins/mods were stealing from one of my favourite explore sites and selling on ebay, they were taken to court, the results of this outcome I do not know. I cancelled my account. Urban exploration is a self explanatory title and sometimes the reputation is destroyed for the genuine interested folk by some theiving scum bags who are just ruthless and arrogant to what Urbex is really about.... It's in the title!!!. They have a poor standard on there ship now.
And it suprised me that they still have the decency to keep going.
Derelict Places however, I'm still a member of, they're very decent on there. The mods are great. And I've got to know many people on this particular site... For whom one member I owe big time for getting me access into a mile long abandonned rail tunnel.
Urbexing is Great Steve, do you have an interest in it at all? Are you a regular? Lol

Hi Dan

Really gratful for the post and info I am not a member of any of these groups so your info very useful. I love these sort of pics and often think about having a go but find it difficult finding the locations. I will pursue though have you posted any work on the forum or have a flickr page I could look at

I would like to but somewhere not to difficult at first. Need to allocate sometime to read your articles had a peep and they look really good.
