Derwent Dam

This is the dam that the RAF (Squadron 617) used in 1943 to practice/develop their bombing skills for the "Bouncing Bomb" (there was also a movie made about the operation - "The Dam Busters", 1955). The RAF still uses this area for low level runs, but not when I was visiting.

Great pair of images. The first one could almost be a medieval castle, love the POV of the second, the reflection works so well.
