developing a look

inspired by the brochure shots of the OM4Ti, I am taking a crack at wide angle, wide aperture, with a bit of flash.

also mucking about with this ambient/flash colour balance stuff

one day, all my pix will look like this....how dull!



using the trusty D1x, with its unlimited flash sync, the SamYang 24mm F1.4, and a Metz 40 into a white brolley. some later shots were taken using a couple of 81 gels on the flash, with camera's WB set to tungsten.....,this proved insufficient but will keep at it. suppose I need an 85?

Nice and moody and I like the colour. What has caused the halo though?

I was meaning the rippling in the blue around the edges of his jacket. I guess it's a jpeg artefact of some sort. Can you see what I mean?
