This is the Törzburg Schloss, situated in the high mountains of Romania. It is also known by its Romanian name, Bran Castle. Often mentioned in Bram Stoker's "Dracula"; however, this is fiction, for Vlad the Impaler never had any connection with this castle).
The castle belongs now to the Habsburg family, connected with the former Royal House of Romania. It is one of the most visited historical sites in Romania, foreign tourists flocking in with the hope of seeing anything resembling Dracula. Well, they're in for a surprise, Drac's not in the house, and never been. But there are a lot of other, more down to Earth things, to be seen and learned.
I have been visiting the place with a Nikon F4 loaded with Agfa APX 400, shot at 800. Not bad, considering the low light in most of the places inside the castle. Been fortunate not to meet Dracula...
A few photographs from within the "lair":
XVI century bombard
Anti-vampire kit
Drac's better half, I guess...I have heard she was a real hugger...
