Dilema

Darren Turner

XProPhotographer
off on holiday on Sunday for 8 nights camping in cornwall ;)

Obviously taking camera but what lens's do i take...........:confused:

I am defo taking.......Canon EOS 7D

so what lens should i take
canon 18-55mm IS
Sigma 10-20mm
Canon EF 100-400mm L IS USM
Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM MK2
Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L

I am going to have to carry this gear around with me everywhere i go, as i have no where to keep it safe, will take relevant bag for gear but i am stressing over which lens

Also do i need Canon Flash Gun & tripod

Most pics will be "Holiday snaps" of sis & nephew but will do some landscapes, sunset & hopefully people shots

HELP...........lol

Assuming the 7D is a crop camera, my choice too would be the 24-70mm, but I would also add the 10-20mm. With the crop factor, 24mm is more wide-normal than wide-angle, and somewhat tight for landscapes and sunsets. At the 70mm end, you have a very nice range of focal lengths for face shots and the like. The 18-55mm does get down to a decent wide-angle, but the range is quite short and lacking at the long end.

I'll second Pete and Larry - walk around 24-70 is hard to beat

more arty shots, you'd have the 10-20mm

70-200 is nice, but a lot to carry on your hols

Flash - meh

Tripod - stick it in the car somewhere

cheers for advice folks

I have decided on Canon 7D, Canon 24-70mm F2,8L (Heavy Beast) 70-200mm F2.8L (Heavy Beast) & Sigma 10-20mm

I just really fancied having a telephoto just in case.......... I will probably regret it with sore shoulders after living with my bag for 8 days........lol

Anyhow i am off on holls as from tonight so wont be on the forum till at least a week on Wednesday.

Have Fun.......!!
