Dog in the Fog

I liked how the lights and fog and trees were interacting one night on my walk with Sadie. It was the evening of January 3 to be exact. Anyway, I had my XA in my pocket and I thought I would try to get a shot of the aforementioned lights fog and trees. I put the camera on the ground to steady it--to my regret, for I got too much foreground and not enough of the good stuff. But anyway I noticed that Sadie took it upon herself to stand in profile in the foggy distance. I was delighted by that. Can you see her?

Tom,...thanks. Funny you should mention Close Encounters and aliens. My brother said it reminded him of "the chase in ET" whatever that means.

Allan,...thanks. But ye cannae hear that particulur dug howl 'cause she never utters a sound. She no a mute or nuthin', she jist disnae like tae make a fuss aboot anything. (Prefers jist tae read quietly in a corner most nights.) ;)

I reckon she's been reading a spot of Stephen King on the quiet!! :)

Lovely shot Brian and I can see why you took it. The glow / glare from the lights though the fog are just great. The fact that Sadie positioned herself so carefully just to the left of the pickup rounds it off a treat. And splitting the frame the way you have works perfectly I think.

Actually no, Pete. At least not to my knowledge. She had me pick up out of the library the other day a book on the philosophical writings of some French guy called Descartes. (However, I caught her reading TS Elliot's collection of Practical Cats poems last night, which makes more sense to me!:p)

Thank you for your comments Pete.

Are you sure it was 'Practical Cats'? Maybe she'd moved on from 'The Waste Land" having been inspired by '...the brown fog of a winter' evening!!
Yes,...quite sure, Pete. Although actually nothing surprises me anymore with that critter of mine.

The dog in the fog is all mine all mine, the dog in the fog is all mine!! :D

I'll get my coat.

Lovely atmosphere Brian - very well trained stunt pet :)

illuminated texts
Pete, I was explaining to her about the illuminated manuscripts that had been on display at the Getty Center but although she listened politely she was quite uninterested to be honest. That is,...until I mentioned that they were created on vellum and what vellum was. Then her ears perked up! :p
