Don's Motel is on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, California. I took this image with my Olympus XA and Fomapan 100 film. Its a hand-held shot.

I developed the film in Rodinal (R09 One Shot) diluted 1:100 using a 60 minute semi-stand technique.

This is the first time I have used Fomapan 100 in 35mm format and I really like it. (Took a bunch of indoor, hand-held, dance shots on this same roll and the tones and contrast were really nice.)

What a great idea for a shot Brian. Not quite abstract but it does make you wonder what is hiding in the shadows. I would probably have cropped it to make it more abstract but I know that's not your thing. having said that I like the little details in the lower part of the image even though you cannot work out what they are.

Thanks a lot, Pete. Considering it was hand held I was very pleased it came out as sharp as it did. I took another from a slightly different angle and with a different aperture and that one turned out so that you can actually see some of the stuff that's not visible in this one. But I liked the deep blackness here. Anyway, thanks again Pete!
