Dover Castle

Well it's either this or a traditional shot of the castle and I try not to do traditional.

ah I see the spot now, I was looking for a bigger spot but it's tiny. I could lop some of the top, just and the end of the clouds? I can afford to lose some of the right hand side I think.

I'm just thinking if I take some from the top I'll have to balance it at the sides and the figure is very close to the left hand side so it will have to come off the right.

Gave it a quick crop, not sure. For me it works either way. Sometimes I'm happy with a lot of sky if I convert to B&W and I'm able to get the sky really dark.

I always think your shots have excellent composition Vic. I like both but prefer the 1st and it is a more holisitic image, all the elements work together better. In the cropped version the foreground has too much dominance and is a more predictable image.

Thanks Paul, appreciate that even though I had to look up holistic!
