On the left is the new Victoria and Albert museum, housing a Scottish Design Gallery and a visiting-exhibition gallery. It's a wonderful building, even in the rain. On the right is HMS Discovery, built for Antarctic research expeditions in 1901. The architect of the museum has clearly put a lot of thought into the site situation, and Dundee's maritime history. I enjoyed my visit yesterday.

It was fairly solid already, designed to break through ice, or survive being crushed by it for months on end.

The museum is worth visiting again, though half of it seems to be given over to feeding the populace.
