Edinburgh calling

Will do, Hamish. I'm also here to look at other people's images, and thankfully there are many to view.

Well, I feel properly welcomed now :)

I never noticed the leaning problem before - now I can see it clearly. I'll look out for that in the future.

this perfectly demonstrates what i hope this forum does for its members...
I thought of my self as a reasonably good photographer before i was a member here ... all these little comments like Petes really do add up...
I cant behind to image how many little tips I have picked up, but i can tell you in the year and a half this place has been going it has improved my photography exponentially
take this as an example http://www.realphotographersforum.com/abstract-still-life/4076-uniche-interior-furnishings-furniture-photography.html
Darren commented on the straight lines ... if it wasnt for Darren posting his images with his anally retentive nature toward vertical verticals etc and at some point him commenting on a non straight line in one of my images, those photos would not be as good! I can actually hold Darren fairly well responsible for some of the quality of those photos!
They earned my company a lot of money ... I wont say how much, but i will say it paid my salary for at least 2 months ... would I have been confident in taking that job if i hadn't learned what I did from Darren ... well maybe, would the results have been as good... probably not, would i have just pretty much bagged a contract for another local furniture manufacturer ... almost definitely not!
My point being, we are all about learning from each other here ...
anyway, you have obviously caught me in a mood for ranting... im going to be quite now ... :)

I was very surprised when I looked at the image later
I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to me, very often to my delight. Andre Kertesz, the great Hungarian photographer, said "Have confidence in the inventions and transformations of chance."
