El Prado Avenue at Noon

Thanks, Rob. This area of Torrance is called "Old Town". The architecture here is unchanged in any significant way (from what I can tell through observation) since before WWII. (That passes for old round these parts.)

Fabulously atmospheric Brian. And I love the shadows. :)

And bonus points for standing in the roof of the car. ;)

Thanks a lot, Pete. Much appreciated.

By the way, the car wasn't tall enough, so I strung a rope between two buildings and walked out on it to take the fotie. Onlookers--I acquired a few--must have thought they were watching Philippe Petit, and I am sure this notion was reinforced as I uttered the occasional expletive which my Glaswegian tongue undoubtedly renders as a French sound to the American ear. (It was a bit nerve-wracking I can tell you, because I hadn't secured the rope as firmly as I should have and so it was continually wobbly. Indeed, I nearly spilled my beer once or twice. ;)

Thanks again, Pete!

I knew you'd get strung up eventually Rob! :D

Great point of view for the shot - worth the risk of spilled beer ;)

Thanks, Hamish. Yes. A tightrope! Anything for art. ;)

Yes, I'm rocking the Minox. It's my go to camera at the moment. The XA3 is having a well-deserved rest.

I put some Acros 100 in the Minox yesterday. I'm looking forward to seeing what it does with B&W.

As to the fotie above, it has a vintage postcard feel about it to me. I think it is the sky as well as the saturated greens in the trees and the red canopies that suggest this. Those colors are straight off the negs, by the way. No PP at all.

Thanks, H!
