Elements Of Fall

Definitely a feeling of changing seasons here in Southern California, even though the daytime temps are still in the mid 70s.

These shots were taken in and around Leo Carrillo Ranch - Carlsbad

Chris;

A wonderful set, so clear, superb images.....!!!
Thanks Peter - we had wonderful light today - mostly overcast with a nice diffusion layer of cloud

Well for sure the lens and sensor combination produce lovely stuff. But to my eye there is more to it. Like the Fuji 35, and maybe more so, there is something to the feel of the output. It comes across as very natural, capturing some of the life of the subject. Just beautiful.

Very attractive subjects, and very very pleasing photography too - as usual.

Thanks Stephen - I agree with your comments about the feel of the Fuji images - I feel they have soul, and they remind me very much of some of my Hasselblad images with the Zeiss lenses

Wonderful set again Chris. And the images really do have a definite look to them, especially it seems, this 23mm. How much of the VF is used with this lens Chris?
Pete if you're using the optical viewfinder, you get the bright line display below

I've been shooting with the EVF and rear LCD more with this lens, in which case you get the full screen view.

I see. So the heavy frame is for the 23mm and I guess the extra space is for the wider lens frame lines. I can see why you use the LCD especially with the amount of intrusion from the lens / hood. Thanks.
The original primes (35mm and 18mm) have optically corrected viewfinders that slip in and out as the lens is fitted - so you always use a full VF

Viewfinder magnification switches to 0.37x when the 18mm lens is mounted, and to 0.60x for the 35mm or 60mm lens

Later primes use the HUD to indicate the FOV in the OVF

I see. Thanks Chris. I need to have a play with one of these at some point. But the most attractive lens for me is the 23mm and that small area of the VF isa big down side. I know I could use the LCD but then I'd need my glasses on to make a decent job. Oh well. looks like I'll just have to stick to Leica after all! ;)
