It is actually amazing what goes on around us which we do not see or observe. You on the other hand have been quite good at the opposite obviously, and even the colours here are subtle and do not destroy any feeling of this good street photography in its every day's stride. Excellent Rense.

I've got those periods: sometimes I think I like landscapes best, but in only a few days the theme of my photography is street. Or macro. Or....
Somehow I hate this not sticking to a theme.....

I disagree. Sticking to a theme all the time makes you stereotyped. To be versatile is far more interesting as well as showing that you have a keen eye and master several genres well. Now that is what I find important. No one wants to be boring, right?

However: to master a genre, you have to practice it. When I'm shooting landscapes, I'm hardly studying street photography....

How long have you photographed Rense? I think it is all about observing, in landscape, in portraits, in architecture as well as in street photography as in sport and cock the shutter at the right moment while you compose as you see fit. Using our eyes are the practising!
The rest of course is up to the onlooker to judge.

Brilliantly timed, Rense. Looks like a cross between and escalator and an exercise machine.

I like the contrast between the gal taking a leisurely ride on the escalator with a coffee and the guy seemingly running down the stairs in a hurry - horses for courses, as it were. Great HCB decisive moment, Rense
