Evening of a flower

What a beautiful photograph @Julian Tanase! You're clearly unafraid of grain or bold tonal contrasts. I really like the square crop—and to my mind, the true subject here isn’t the flowerpot, but the chair. Black on black, it stands as a silent witness to the time and space it inhabits. So deeply human in its stillness. Lovely use of light.

A magnificent still life, Julian. Everything about it is right.
I agree totally about embracing grain. It's an inherent part of the film medium and can be exploited to great effect to add interest, character and/or style.

Well visualized ... well captured ... well processed ... Well Done! In my mind I've been playing with a tighter crop for additional emphases on the flower-vase ... but I don't think a tighter crop would add any improvements to this image. I appreciate what you saw, how you metered and how you crafted the final image. Just a great job, thank you for sharing.
