Eye-fi Memory Cards

are these of use? would i be able to transfer photos from my camera straight to my ipad out in the field?

I think you need to be on a network via a wireless router but may a adhoc network is possible. Also I am fairly sure you cant transfer RAW, only JPEG files.

The ones i've looked at Paul create their own wi-fi network and the ProX2 will do raw :) I just wondered if anyone had experience of them

i am thinking of getting the Nikon wifi dongle that plugs into side of the camera, this does the same job and send the pics straight to another wifi device, can also use smartphone as a remote with live view

I use it with my canon G12...they create their own network so you can download both jpg and raw to any device that connects. A little slow...but they work. Nice for download to iPad...Phones...etc.

cheers Glenn :) that's what i'm hoping for, I want to look at pictures on the bigger screen to decide whether I need to reshoot or not

well I have the card and have paired it up with a newly bought samsung galaxy pad and it works like a dream so far, the next test is to head to the highlands on sunday and try it in 'the field' which might literally be a field lolol

I find it works with the iPad in my backpack. I just pair it up...and shoot. I think I remember setting it to auto download. It is a little slow but very usable.

The fuji raw file seems to take about 30secs per picture which for me is totally doable

Any difference in the read/write speed of the SD card - from the camera's perspective?

not that i can tell Chris, I got the Pro X2 which is a class 6 so is quite speedy
