I said to myself Wow when I opened the pic. Main reason for my surprise and delight to see such a good picture, arrives from the fact that I did a huge amount of this type of image, as a teenager. I grew up in a large wood, no roads to the house etc. With a camera and dark room my immediate subject matter stepping out the house, was this wood or small forest of trees. I took a large number of fallen tree pics of this nature. Mostly still freshly fallen and roots covered in mud. It is how I got into Fine art school, by producing these images at the interview. They liked them. So thanks this has rustled up favorable memories, which are often lacking these days.
I have recently been to my mothers hoping to find all my old negatives. Sadly not to be found.
Just to say your pic is far better than mine ever were.

Thank you very much, Julian. I really enjoyed your story about how life treated you in such a way to bring out your life's path.
We forget to soon, especially with the digital realm that weak link (in the brain) seems to be magnified due to the information pollution. :confused:

Interestingly all my negatives from my teen years back in Turkey are lost or displaced. [banghead]

You are a great artist and photographer. The fame and money usually comes after we're gone. They just want to make sure, we don't get any split from our own work. ;)

We are raised on comparison;
our education is based on it; so is our culture.
So we struggle to be someone other than who we are.

Thank you, Pete. :)
It's been there since '88 when I first saw it + 275 years more.

Wow - flames in wood - amazing what nature can produce

Very nicely captured - Love that part of the world - so inspiring

Thank you very much, Brian. The tree fell parallel to the road. :confused:

Thank you, Chris. It has a huge root area (the flames.) I'd say 3-4 6' persons stacked up.

That photo is amazing. I can't really do it justice with words.

Also I recently saw a film called Zeitgeist Addendum which had some film footage of Krishnamurti speaking. It was the best part of the film If you have a book by or about his teachings you could recommend I would really appreciate it.

Thank you very much, Steve.
Krisnamurti lived and died very close to where I live know. Ojai is the town's name. My wife and I visited his home and got a book for our son a couple of years ago. I plan to visit his place soon, and will check the collection at his place and let you know.
