Finding What You Enjoy

Favorite photography genre,..? Hmmm. I like architectural photography. I like street photography. I think those are the two that appeal to me most. However, a while back I was inspired to shoot backstage and in the wings during some dance performances. I loved doing that, and getting shot of people as they prepared to step on stage or lounged around before performances and so on. That was a blast!

Good reads here. Appreciate all of you giving some insight into your photography. I have a lot to digest.

The amount of fascinating work on this site from the members is amazing!

I've spent the better part of the last 2 days getting my DAM in order and thinking on this very subject.

I ran across a photographer who's abstract work really caught my eye and also while going over a lot of my photos the last couple days (excluding the family event shots) I really am partial to the night shots I have taken over the years.

Again, thanks for taking the time to give me some help here!

As I started with my image making back in 1970, many genres have been explored, but the love of making images has been there from the very start. There is something in the feeling of walking about with my camera. It is a door opener and while making images the whole world and any obstacle in life is forgotten. The world is quite a distance away while I am engulfed in what I’m doing. When results are viewed and shared with the ones who understand and appreciate them, it gets even better. And it really does not matter if it's landscape, nature or people, not really where I am either. It's what I do.
