i have been umming and arring about posting these up.

first of all i feel i could be caught into the trap of people criticizing them as good or bad wedding photos.

so i wanted to clear things up first. i was asked by the brides and grooms ( close friends ) of two seperate weddings to bring my camera along to take some shots throughout the day. knowing that they both had professional photographers at each wedding i obloged stressing that i will be doing my own thing like it or lump it.

i am not trying to emulate a wedding photographers work just having a bit of fun.

I got about 50 nice shots at each wedding and both parties where pretty chuffed with them it may sound quite odd but one of the highest forms of gratification for me was how many of my facebook friends changed there profile pics to a shot of themselves that I took after posting them, 16 in total including both newly-weds!!

some of my favs

your thoughts?

THANKS FOR LOOKING

These are great Thomas. I like number 1 especially. However, if I was one of the wedding party I'd be delighted with all of these.

What can I say Tom. Super shots and nice PP. I can see why they are pleased. I'm sure they compliment the 'official' shots well and show another side to the events, a more relaxed side where you can reveal different things because you know the people.

Lovely stuff mate!
Really nice personal take on wedding photos ... must be so nice to to be constrained by doing it as a job ... im quite envious really!
The second and third are really great photos!!

Thanks guys. I'm finding the whole wedding scene quite strange... Like an oddity in photography the poses that both photogs made people do where so..... Cheesy, dated, awefull and had no reflection or reference to the people in them. Just because it's a shot of a special event does not automatically make it a good shot ... Right?? I kinda took a leaf out of hamish's book here his style with candid natural shots that are very good photographs inthemselves is always win for me. Not some old fart with a good camera who reckons he can make a few bob on the weekend.!

Tom - the 'official' photog should have paid you a few quid to attend and take the informal candids! :)

Nice shots Tom, I just hope I can do as well as this next week. I really like the last one great shot and conversion.
