Flamborough, windswept and cold...

It is my intention at some point this year to start watercolour painting. I guess from these photographs you can tell where the painting will be going..? Flamborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Tuesday, 10th March. Cold and windswept after a nice breakfast at the cafe.

No1 and No3 have already been sent off for printing on to Hahnemuhle Albrect Durer fine art paper so that they can then be framed. My intention was always to produce a set of images that looked very little like a photograph. The weave of the paper should help this no end. At the moment I don't know whether the concept will work or not but if it does there may be no need to take up painting. Time will tell I guess.

Viewing them again, I don't really like No2.

I guess if I am trying to emulate a watercolour painting then it has to resemble a watercolour painting lol. No2 does not. It does not really have much of anything in common. The layering and shading is all wrong. So, pleased I went with printing No1 and No3. Just impatient now as to what they will look like.

A fine set of big sky images. The colours and textures in 1 and 3 are just beautiful. No.2 looks just fine by itself, just does not go with the other two.
