Flickr - talk to me

I've completely given up on photobucket ... I'm not sure what kept me there it is so crap it's almost a joke!
So, Flickr it is...
I've added contacts of people I can find, what does that mean?
Do I get some sort of message telling me if somone adds me?

I'm using a yahoo email address ... I set up Flickr ages ago with it...
I don't really want to use a yahoo email address... Can I change it to my Hamish@realphotographersforum.com email (for eg)

What else should I know that might help me on my way?

with using the yahoo account tho you get "pro" status and can store more foties

Agreed and you will get email if and when someone adds you as a contact....I gave up on PB a while back

If you get broadband through BT you get a free Flickr Pro account, I don't about any other way.

I think you just need to create a sub account using your BT email address, once done your account automatically upgrades

I found the adverts very irritating on Photobucket and therefore switched that to a Pro account (kept private). Now all is fine and seems to work well. No adverts and tons of space. Speed is good. I guess the Flickr Pro account is much the same. I've also always been suspicious of the Flickr / Getty thing which is why I stayed with Photobucket and I only use it for the forum.

Sub account? Sub meaning substitute, i.e. a different account? I used my gmail account as my main one. I'll have a look later.
