I'm about 3 pics away from my un pro limited.... Other than that, to get a pro account by paying for it is about 15 quid I heard.

On the free account..
300 MB monthly photo upload limit (15MB per photo)
Photostream views limited to the 200 most recent images (you can store more than this..)
Post any of your photos in up to 10 group pools
Only smaller (resized) images accessible (though the originals are saved in case you upgrade later)

Pro account removes these restrictions.
I upgraded last month for the equivalent of £30 for two years subscription (45 USD )

Is it woth setting up an RPF Flickr group, or is that just duplicating what we do on the forum?
