Four colours - one poser

With my favourite archtop guitar - at least, the favourite of the ones I own...It is a copy of the first archtop Lloyd Loar made for Gibson back in the 1920s. The copy is by an American company called The Loar.

I hate doing my own shots, but as no one else here knows where the ON button is, I had to do it myself with the 10-second timer. X-S1 on Portrait mode (thought I'd give the Scenes a tryout)

The PP is in CS3, just playing around with colour, B&W and tints. I like the darkest one the best, mainly because it shows me and the couch less, but it also shows the guitar less. Still, it has a jazz-photoish atmosphere...maybe...

I agree, number one for me too Rob but not for those reasons. It is just much more atmospheric and the contrasts are much more interesting. Might be worth trying to lift the tones in the dark areas of the face just the tiniest of touches though.

I like #1 best, too. That the couch etc. is too dark to see detail in is actually perfect in my view. One thing I always look for in a guitar picture is the manufacturer name or logo on the headstock. I think the only thing I'd try to do would be to lighten that area a wee bit to bring our "The Loar."

Loving the B&W one myself Rob - how did you get back to your seat and start playing in just 10 secs?

Nice in Rob!! Good choice of PP! Especially the last one
