This image just popped up on Fuji's accessory page for the X-Pro1

Looks like the official M-Mount adapter is imminent!

The image on the right, of the back of the adapter with contacts on it, is intriguing

Are they doing something clever to interface to these lenses in some automated way?

No details yet, this is just the teaser. :)

I am quite amazed at the quick support from third party suppliers for such a new camera. Novoflex just announced something like 15 or 16 lens adapters including several medium format mounts, along with pretty much all 35mm lens mounts.

Mixed feelings however. With the X-mount Fujinon lenses, the camera is beautifully balanced and responsive. The lenses themselves are compact and light. My wide-angle and tele/macro lenses are still on order, but the sharpness of the f/1.4 35mm lens is outstanding—possibly the sharpest lens I own. I have a few M-mount lenses, which are only manual focus but might be interesting—a f/1.2 50mm Canon—which may be worth a try. I expect it is no where near the quality of the Fujinon. My Nikon lenses are great, but AF would be lost and they tend to be bigger and heavier. Certainly the zooms would overwhelm the camera.
