FUJI X10 XF1 dilemma

So after playing with various cheap compacts of the old variety I have yet to find one that is satisfactory.
Spoke to the wife and she gave me the ok to spend about 200-250 on a p&s camera.
Instantly thought of fuji as a Sony rx100 is out of my price league.

Now here lies the problem, I'm indecisive. I'm torn between the xf1 and the x10.

the xf1 is 50 quid cheaper is compact enough to fit in my pocket which is a massive plus, has f1.8 at the wide end of the lens.
But it goes to f4.9 at the tele end and has no view finder.

the x10 has a viewfinder, has an aperture range of f2.0 to f2.8. But its too big for a trouser pocket and is a little more expensive.

I can't seem to decide on which I would prefer, or maybe there is some other alternative to a fuji (blasphemy I know).

I need your help guys, any ideas?

The XF1 is a lovely looking camera in any of the colours but the one I looked at in Jessops before it closed had not stood up well to constant handling. The lens mechanism had broken and would not rotate and the manager confirmed that it was not the only one to have the same fault. It is made in China and just seemed a tad fragile to me whereas the X10 has a hewn from solid metal (which it is) feel to it and a retro charm which I really like. It is not pocketable though but I do like the addition of the limited viewfinder. It is a jewel of a camera.

I bought the X10 from Fuji Refurbs and have been delighted with it as a step up from a Lumix tz10 point and shoot.

Fuji Refurbs have the XF1 on offer at the mo for £220 before discount.

I have recently managed to smuggle a Nikon V1 past my eagle eyed wife and have been very impressed at the capabilities of this super fast little camera. Never worth £800 odd but at £230, an absolute steal. It is lightning fast when focusing in good light and the metering is spot on. It is worth a look.
