An example of the beautiful architecture in the city centre, as seen in the soft light of evening shortly after the sun had set. Taken about 20 years ago while on holiday in Germany. Bronica ETRSi, Velvia 50.

Well, there air looks to have been very clear: so much detail on view. At the top of the pole it says 1900 - 2002, which is the very definition of a ‘long century’. I love Velvia film.

I’m currently halfway through a biography of another Turner, JMW. No relation?

I haven't shot a roll of slide film for years. The last time I remember doing so was when we were still living on the Isle of Wight, before 2006. Sometimes I'm tempted, for old times sake, then I look at the price of it again and digital colour suddenly seems quite appealing again..

Thanks Rob.
It's surprising how much detail the above camera/film combo can yield, particularly with the 75mm PE. To get the best out of it with my scanning set-up I have scan in sections and stitch. Luckily most of the time, for what I want/need, a single overall scan is sufficient (you may also note that it doesn't take much for me to slip further into nerd mode🙄😊)

Nice take @Ralph Turner. The light is so delicate around those shapes and reflections that it makes you think you can touch the building. Like putting your finger in the cream of a wedding cake to taste it.
I haven't read your blog post yet, but I'll do soon as a new subscriber to your newsletter.
